The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Come On (Part 1)
Tabbed by Dan Clifford

This is a great Hendrix song, and I was sorely disappointed to
see that nobody had tabbed it, so I thought that I would do it

Tabbing this song precisely would be an absolute nightmare, so
instead I will give some examples of how all the different
sections go, and let people fill in the gaps for themselves

This song is played somewhere between standard tuning and half
a step down, so playing along with the record can be tricky

Intro

G|-9-9p7---7-9-9p7-------|----------------|
D|-------9---------9--9--|-8-8-8-8-8---5--|
A|-----------------------|-----------7----|
E|-----------------------|----------------|

Verse

G|-------------|-----------|
D|-------------|------2----|
A|-7-r---------|-----------|
E|-------------|--------3--|

or

G|-----------|-----------|
D|-----------|--------5--|
A|-7-r-------|------7----|
E|-----------|-----------|

Either of these two figures can be used for the verses. I think
the first is used in the first verse only, and the second is used
in both the latter verses
All the choruses are different, and follow no one pattern (Except
for the fact that it is a 12-bar in E), so I have given two examples,
which can then be used for further improvisation

Chorus Riff

Example 1

G|-----------------|-----------|----------------|
D|-----------------|-----4-5-6-|-7--------------|
A|-----5-----------|--7--------|----4--5--4-5-6-|
E|-5h7---5-7-5-3-0-|-----------|----------------|

G|---------------|-----------------|-------------|---------------|
D|---------5-6---|-------------5-6-|-7--7--5-----|---------------|
A|-7--7--7-----7-|-7--7--7-7-7-----|---------7-5-|---4--5--4-5-6-|
E|---------------|-----------------|-------------|-5-------------|

G|---------------|---------------|-------------|---------------|
D|---------5-6---|-------5-6-7-8-|-9--9--------|---------------|
A|-7--7--7-----7-|-7--7----------|-------6-7-8-|---4--5--4-5-6-|
E|---------------|---------------|-------------|-5-------------|

G|-----------------|--------------|
D|-----6-6-7-7-8-8-|-9-9-------5--|
A|-7-7-------------|------9--7----|
E|-----------------|--------------|

Example 2

G|-----------------|-----------|--------------|---------------|
D|-----------------|-----4-5-6-|-7--5--4------|---------5-6---|
A|-----5-----------|--7--------|--------------|-7--7--7-----7-|
E|-5h7---5-7-5-3-0-|-----------|----------5-5-|---------------|

G|-----------------|--------------|
D|-----6-6-7-7-8-8-|-9-9-------5--|
A|-7-7-------------|------9--7----|
E|-----------------|--------------|

The Solo

At the end of the second chorus, instead of the last bar, play

G|-------------------|-------------------|
D|-9-----------------|-------------------| (This is all in triplets)
A|-------------------|-x--2--3--4--5--6--|
E|----2--3--4--5--6--|-------------------|

Solo bass riff

G|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
D|-----------------|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-----------------|-----------------|
A|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-----7-------7---|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|
E|-----7-------7---|-----------------|-----7-------7---|-----7-------7---|

G|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
D|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-----------------|-----------------|
A|-----7-------7---|-----7-------7---|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|
E|-----------------|-----------------|-----7-------7---|-----7-------7---|

G|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
D|-9-9---7-9-9---7-|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-----------------|-----------------|
A|-----9-------9---|-----7-------7---|-7-7---5-7-7---5-|-------------4-5-|
E|-----------------|-----------------|-----7-------7---|-7-7-7-7-7-7-----|

That's about everything. The structure of the song is

Intro
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus with different end
Solo (Consisting of solo riff x3, then chorus riff x2)
Verse
Chorus
Outro (Consisting of chorus riff until fade, but you can chuck in the solo
riff as well)
