Goodbye Ol^Ò Missoula
Willis Alan Ramsey

Willis Alan Ramsey recorded one classic album on Leon's Shelter
records back in 73 or 74. The album has been reissued on CD.
W A Ramsey is still giggin' ya gotta see 'im.

The notation is as follows: the numbers correspond to the key
 scale notes. In the key of A, 1 = A; 2 = B; b3 = C where
 3 = C#, etc.  The extensions are 1dom7 = A7; 1j7 = Amaj7;
1- or 1-7 = Am or Am7. No extension makes the chord simply
a major triad. The | is a bar line and / is a beat within a
measure that designates playing the same as previous chord.
No bar lines means the chord will get an entire measure's
time. Two chords per measure split the measure exactly in
half. W.A. actually plays in different tunings, these
 changes are really implied voicings.

6/8 time
intro: 1 [2X]

1 1dom7
Searchin^Ò for the sunlight
2-7 1
On this winter^Òs day
   |1 3- |6-
But here in ol^Ò Missoula
2- 5
They^Òve thrown the sun away
1 1dom7
Come tomorrow morning
    2-7 1
I^Òm headed for the Bowsman Round
         1j7 |b7 4 |1 / / b3 / 4 | 1 | 1 |
And it^Òs goodbye to ol^Ò Missoula sleepy town

1 1dom7
I met a girl named Rosie
2-7 1
Sweet as she could be
|1 3- |6-
But I guess that Rosie
2- 5
She didn^Òt have eyes for me
1 1dom7
Time waits for no one
      2-7 1
Lord, why did I hesitate
         1j7 |b7 4 |1 / / b3 / 4 | 1 | 1 |
And it^Òs goodbye to ol^Ò Missoula a day too late

5 1
Clouds that hang on the mountain
5 1
They make me lonesome inside
3- 6-
And these four walls surround me
2- 5
Leaving no place to hide

| 1 | / 1dom7 | 2- | 1 |
| 1 | 1 | 6- | 1 / / b3 / 4 |
| 1 | 1 |

Goodbye Rosie you^Òll never know
Time tells my love will pass
But if I just remember your smilin^Ò face
That^Òs all of time that I ask
Show in this town is over
Maybe just never began
And it^Òs goodbye to ol^Ò Missoula done all that I can

         1j7 b7
And it^Òs goodbye to ol^Ò Missoula
1j7 b7 1j7 b7
goodbye to ol^Ò Missoula goodbye to ol^Ò Missoula
5 |1 / / b3 / 4 | 1 | 1 |
Sleepy town
