Triplet Combinations

1. Start with a simple hi-hat/snare combination.

   1 + a 2 + a 3 + a 4 + a  1 + a 2 + a 3 + a 4 +
 
You can use three different hand patterns for this exercise: 
a) RLR LRL RLR LRL
b) RLL RLL RLL RLL
c) LRR LRR LRR LRR

If you play a), b), then c) all in a row, I recommend playing 4+a of b) like this: RLR. And I recommend
playing 4+a of c) like this: LRL.
This way you can easily play all three hand patterns as a continuous exercise.

2. Now add a single bass drum hit.

3. Try opening the hi-hat for opens on the number counts.

close the hi-hat on + ; make it in coordination with the first snare hit of each group of three.

4. Now try adding a second bass drum hit to each group of triplets.

it may be too hard to play this at first with the open hi-hat notes, so first play with closed hats, then
when you feel comfortable, add the opens.
