Piney Wood Hills is one of Buffy Sainte Marie's early country hits (1970) which I transcribed from the record The Best of Buffy Sainte Marie. The only exciting trick I can suggest for playing it is to slide around the chords in the chorus, from the chords given to the chords in brackets. If this is to complicated, don't worry - just ignore the bracketed stuff. Also, by "A3-4-3" I mean play the normal A chord, then add the "D" on the third fret of the B string, then go back to the normal A chord again. If this is too complicated, ignore it too. Have fun =) Vanessa Kay flowermonster@priest.com Piney Wood Hills (Buffy Sainte Marie) A3-4-3-4-3- A 3-4-3 F#m Iām a rambler and a rover and a wanderer it seems A 3-4-3 F#m Iāve travelled all over chasin after my dreams D B E But a dream should come true/ and a heart should be filled A E7 A 3-4-3 And a life should be lived in the Piney Wood Hills A F#m I'll return to the woodlands Iāll return to the snow A F#m Iāll return to the hills and the valley below D B E Iāll return as a poor man or a king if God wills A E A But Iām on my way home to the Piney Wood Hills Chorus: D I was raised on a song there A (G# A) Iāve done right and done wrong there B (Bb B) And itās true I belong there E and itās true itās my home.
