That Much A Fool Chords by Continental Drifters,

apparently this band has been around for a while,
but this incarnation includes vickie peterson (from the bangles),
and susan cowsill (yes! from the cowsills!)
anyhoo i think this is right,
i pick or strum, and i don't play accordion, though someone
does on the recording...
 a lilting, waltz-like tempo.
listen & you'll get it.
any suggestions, corrections, requests, donations?

That Much a Fool (continental drifters)

Written by Vicki Peterson
Main Vocal: VICKI

capo I

D... E... D... A (waltz-like rhythm)

A E
Remember the summer we sat in the rain
Bm D A
Counting the cars on the Southern bound trains

And just for a moment
    E
Our gazes would meet
Bm D A D E D A
Lips just an instant from kisses so sweet

A
So what ever happened
E
You turned away
    Bm D A
And I never thought of the right thing to say
                     E
So many times i have thought of the kiss
Bm
We never shared
           D A
Now you?re telling me this

D
You could have fooled me
  A
I had no idea
     E A
That you were so very in love with me, dear
D
You did not show it
    A F#m
And now it seems cruel
                D
You could have fooled me
    E D A
I?m that much a fool

D E D A

A E
You were a brother, a friend, and a man
       Bm D A
Who i thought I knew like the back of my hand

Now you?re here waiting
      E
Your eyes wet with tears
    Bm D A
Confessing a love after so many years

     D
Well you could have fooled me
  A
I had no idea
E A
You were so very in love with me, dear
D
You did not show it
    A F#m
And now it seems cruel
                D
You could have fooled me
    E D A
I?m that much a fool

(solo-- accordion, guitar, etc.)

D A E A D A F#m D E D A

       F#m
Well i waited
     Bm
And wondered
      D A
What seems like a lifetime and then
   F#m B7
i loved you like a brother
     D E
And cherished you so as a friend

A E
Remember the winter you went away
Bm D A
Something inside of me died on that day

And now i am married
  E
I play by the rules
   Bm
I cannot go with you
     D A
I'm that much a fool

D
But you could have fooled me
  A
I had no idea
      E A
That you were so very in love with me, dear
D
You did not show it
    A F#m
And now it seems cruel
          D
You could have fooled me
    E D A D E D A
I?m that much a fool
