Bleed - The Dreaming
from The Dreaming EP

See their website: www.thedreamingonline.com

Simple song, standard tuning works well.

I'll just write out the riffs and then you can see where to play them
on the lyrics below. Hope it isn't too confusing or complicated.

/# or \# = slide up or down to that fret(don't pluck the new note)
~ = hold
b# = bend to that fret
h# = hammer that fret(don't pluck)
r = release bend or hammer(let original note sound though)

[Riff 1] - intro and last line of 2nd verse
Leave the high E string open and just hit it every other beat. The
meat of this riff is played on the B string. Listen to the song for
the timing.
E|----0----0-------0----0--------0----0-------0-----0---|
B|-12---12---12/13---13~~~/15-10---10---12b13r---10-----|
G|------------------------------------------------------|

[Riff 2] - On 2nd verse, 3rd line.

G|------------------------------------------------------|
D|------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------------------|

[Riff 3] - Verse
During some of the lines in the verses this is played. I'm not even
sure if it's guitar, but it has a weird effect on it.
E|------------------------------------------------------|
B|-8----------5-------------1---------------------------|
G|-9----------5-------------2---------------------------|
D|-9----------5-------------2---------------------------|
A|-7----------3-------------0---------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------------------|

[Riff 4] - chorus
Just some power chords. You could add the open low E string on the
first chord for a lower bass note.
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-|

E|-----------------------------------------------------------------|

[Riff 5] - played on bridge and outro,
Use an opening wah effect with some distortion and play this really
fast. It follows Chris's voice when he sings "dry"

Lyrics:

[INTRO]

[Riff 1] x 2

[1ST VERSE] - (At the beginning of the first two lines there is a
single note on the high E string at fret 12)

We've ignored the truth trying to paint this perfect life.
There's no ugliness if we only close our eyes.
[Riff 3]
But you cut too deep, too often, now I'm hemorraging inside,
Now it's too late to stitch up with a butterfly.

[CHORUS]

[Riff 4] x 2
Is this what you want? Is this what you need?
You tear out my soul to watch as I bleed?
Is this what you want? Is this what you need?
You tear out my soul [STOP RIFF] to watch as I bleed?

[Riff 1]

[2ND VERSE] - (Same as the first verse for the first two lines.

[Riff 3] - over entire verse
I swallow all my hate, keep it buried deep inside,
But I'm choking on a truth that I can't deny.
[Riff 2]
That you cut too deep, too often, now I'm hemorraging inside,
[Riff 1]
It will take more than a tourniquet this time.[STOP RIFFS EARLY]

[Riff 4] x 2
Is this what you want? Is this what you need?
You tear out my soul to watch as I bleed?
Is this what you want? Are you satisfied?
There's nothing left...

[Riff 4] & [Riff 5] x 2
You've bled me dry.
You've bled me dry.

[Riff 4] [STOP RIFF EARLY]
But you cut too deep, too often, now I'm hemorraging inside.
[Riff 3] [Riff 6]
Now it's too late to stitch up with a butterfly.

[Riff 4] x 2
Is this what you want? Is this what you need?
You tear out my soul to watch as I bleed?
Is this what you want? Are you satisfied?
There's nothing left...

[Riff 4] & [Riff 5] x 4
You've bled me dry.
You've bled me dry.
You've bled me dry. (But you cut...)
You've bled me dry. (But you cut...)
