I have to ways posted here: standard tuning (at the end) or open G tuning
(the first). There are several guitars going in this song, and it sounds
good to play one in open G and have another person play the standard tuning
chords. You can play the riff in standard tuning if you want by simply
changing the last "2h4" to a "0h2" (because in standard tuning the 5th
string is two steps higher at an A). David.

D G
Poor old grandad, I laughed at all his words
  D G
I thought he was a bitter man, he spoke of women's ways
        D G
They'll trap you and abuse you, before you'll even know
     D G
But love is blind and your far too kind, don't ever let it show

  D G
I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger
  D G
I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was stronger

The cancan's such a pretty show, it'll steal your heart away
The backstage back on earth again, the dressing rooms are great
They come on strong and it ain't too long, for it'll make you feel a man
For love is fine and you soon will find, you're just a boy again

Piano solo

When you want her lips, and get her cheek
It makes you wonder where you are
If you want some more, and she's fast asleep
Did you twinkle with the stars

Poor young grandson, there's nothing I can say
You'll have to learn, just like me
And that's not all this way
Ooh la la, ooh la la la la, yeah

Guitar solo

I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was younger
I wish that I knew what I know now, when I was stronger
