Melodyssey-The Pitch

A forward slash / means to slide up to next indicated pitch.
A bracket ( indicates palm muting.
 b = Bend
 r = Release

The main riff for this song uses a pitch sweep pedal effect to sweep up a whole
octave. If you don't have a pedal, you could just finger an octave jump thus:

Intro/Chorus:

   1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4
 e|----------------|----------------|
 B|----------------|----------------|
 G|------4---------|------6---------|
 D|----------------|----------------|
 A|2-----------2/--|4---------------|
 E|----------------|----------------|

Variation 1:

   1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4
 e|----------------|----------------|
 B|----------------|----------------|
 G|------4---------|------6-6b7r6---|
 D|----------------|----------------|
 A|2-----------2/--|4---------------|
 E|----------------|----------------|

Variation 2:
   1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4
 e|----------------|----------------|
 B|----------------|----------------|
 G|------4---------|----------------|
 D|----------------|---(6------(6---|
 A|2-----------2/--|4--(4------(4---|
 E|----------------|---(4------(4---|

Using the pedal is more difficult to explain, but if you're good enough to
coordinate your foot, you could probably figure out this easy riff anyway.

Verses use a lighter distortion and a fast vibrato/tremolo effect.
Easy three note chords.

Verse:
(You must have caught me unaware...)

Back into Intro/Chorus as above.

Then another Verse

...And chorus.

Then the breakdown/synth solo.

Now the first part of the breakdown is the same as first 8 bars of the
verse above. But the second time it is played, the last 3 chords are
changed. Now I blame my human imperfection for not letting me figure out
these last three chords. I THINK they may be:

     A A again and Em

 |---5-----------5-----------3----|
 |---5-----------5-----------5----|
 |---6-----------6-----------4----|
 |--------------------------------|
 |--------------------------------|
 |--------------------------------|

Here's the synth solo. I think it sounds best with huge gain and wah,
and played in a legato slide style, only picking the first note and
vibrato-ing each subsequent note heavily to keep the sustain going.
You can play it however you like of course...

 |--------------------------------|
 |-7/--12-----11\--7/---10\--8--9-|
 |--------------------------------|
 |--------------------------------|
 |--------------------------------|
 |--------------------------------|

Then just go back to the chorus and then the verse until the cymbal solo
outro. Final chord is a B minor (surprise, surprise).
