Whitlams "Chunky Chunky Air Guitar" Version 1.0 pending revision. A very simple song, harmonically - the whole song goes from Bm to E and back again. So I won't bother writing out a chart as such. Sorry keyboardists, this one is for guitar. As usual ^(x) means a bend to note x, and (x)v means release the bend from note x. / means slide, and ~ means vibrato. h for hammer-on and p for pull-off. Over the verses, the guitar is picking with palm muting except for the last note of riff 1. This riff simply follows the chord change - listen to the song for the rhythm. d----------------------------------------- a-----------------5-7-7-7-5-7-7-5-7-5~~--- e-7-7-7-5-7-7-5-7------------------------- Over this there is another guitar (?) with a thick tone sliding up to the chords as the song goes along... g------/9--- d--/9--/9--- a--/9--/7--- e--/7------- Now to the chorus, where there's a little bit of screaming overdrive. There are two riffs, both around when Tim sings "...guitar" e--12------ b--15^(17)- ie you bend the b string till it matches the pitch of the e string. Repeat. chorus Riff 2: b-------10------------------ g-9^(11)--(11)v9h7---------- d------------------9-7-9~--- So you bend the g string up to that pitch, hold it while hitting the b string, release the bend and pull off, then play the d string. The after the choruses and before the next verse, the guitar cleanly comps on the Bm but an interesting voicing: e--11-- b--12-- g--11-- And as far as I can hear on my copy, that's about it! Of course you stuff around with a bit more noise but improvise and make it your own :-) When the album comes out corrections will follow if needed.
