Please read the notes at the bottom for some of the chord approximations. (Intro) D5 D5/B D5/C# D5 Am Am/B Am/C Asus2 (x2) D5 D5 C9 Eb D Dsus4 D D (Verse 1) D D D D E E E E Cara... Em Dm Dm Dm Dm D D D Will you get... D G G C#dim C#dim D D D How you mixed... D Em Em G C#dim Until your chemistry... Am Am/B Am/C Asus2 But I've forgotten... D5 D5/B D5/C# D5 And there's a sea... Am Am/B Am/C Asus2 And I'm struck.... D5 D5 C9 Eb5 D Dsus4 D D (Interlude) D5 D5/E D5/G D5/F# D5/C D5/C D5/C D5/C (x2) (Verse 2 - just like 1, except for a tacet near the end that you'll know where to place from listening to the recording) (Repeat Refrain) Notes: Drop D tuning (DADGBE) is suggested. For the most part, play the D5 by just playing a D chord and muting the high-E string. The exception is the interlude, where if you can reach your pinky up to grab an upper A (5th fret), you'll get a much more interesting imitation of the actual song. The 2nd and 3rd chord may actually be variants of G6, rather than D5. Playing them as (X2003X) and (X4003X) sounds just as good, possibly more exotic than the D5 variations (X2023X) and (X4023X). The only remotely weird chord is the C#dim (X45650). Play the D-Gm-D by sliding from the D into a short version of Gm (XXX333) and back to D again. - Nick Rivette (rivettes@earthlink.net)
