Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2004 14:12:36 -0800 (PST) From: Eric ForyanSubject: b/bt/animals.tab Animals Acoustic or Electric Guitar Original Artist: BT Album: Emotional Technology, 2003 This is my own tab work. The lyrics used to synchronize with the chords were from the booklet included with the "Emotional Technology" album. Standard Tuning Chord Listing: Asus2 C#min7 A B C#min E -----0------0------0------2------4------0---- -----0------0------2------4------5------0---- -----2------1------2------4------6------1---- -----2------2------2------4------6------2---- -----0------4------0------2------4------2---- -----0------X------0------2------4------0---- Intro and Chorus Chords: Note: The chords below are the same as listed above. However during the intro and chorus, strings 1 and 2 should not be played. This note is a reminder to beginners that the tabs below are still barre chords, so you can make the appropriate finger formation instead of killing your joints trying to make it work a different way. Also, picking the strings instead of strumming, sounds more like the recording, and is easier to avoid playing strings 1 and 2 during these parts. Intro and Chorus: B C#min Asus2 E 5x 5x 2x 3x <-- How many times to play each chord. (Listen to the song for the rhythm). -----X-----X-----X-----X---- -----X-----X-----X-----X---- -----4-----6-----2-----1---- -----4-----6-----2-----2---- -----2-----4-----0-----2---- -----2-----4-----0-----0---- The tabs for the guitar melody in the intro are as follows: --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --1--1--1--2----4------2--2--2-/-6-----4------2----2----------------- --2--2--2--2----2------4--4--4-/-7-----4------2----0----4-/-2--2----- --------------------------------------------------------0---0--0----- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --1--1--1--2----4------2--2--2--1----2------------------------------- --2--2--2--2----2------4--4--4--2----2------4----4----4--2-/-11------ --------------------------------------------5----5----0--0---0------- If you can't get the slides to sound right, here's a slideless tab for the same intro. --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------1------------------------------------ --1--1--1--2----4------2--2--2--2----4------2----2------------------- --2--2--2--2----2------4--4--4-------4------2----0----4---2--2------- ------------------------------------------------------0---0--0------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------1-------- --1--1--1--2----4------2--2--2--1----2------------------------------- --2--2--2--2----2------4--4--4--2----2------4----4----4--2----------- --------------------------------------------5----5----0--0--0-------- While this is being played, a second guitar (or third if you're playing both tab melody and chords), can add this background melody (repeated twice). If you can't find this many guitarists, don't worry, the song will sound fine without it (Most people don't notice this guitar in the background, and BT has more parts in his multitracks than are in the scope of this tab.) --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------1--2----1------------1-------1-------1----1------------------ -----4------------4-2-----2------4----2-------2----2----------------- --2---------------------4-------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- While the chords during the verses are being played, a second guitar may add the following harmony repeatedly for fullness and effect: ---0---------------0---------------0--------------------------------- -------2---------------2---------------2----------------------------- -----------2---1-----------2---1-----------2---1--------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- At the end of the second bar after the chord change to C#min7 during the main verses (when "constant" or "consecrated" is said, for example), there is a slight variation to this pattern like so: ---0-------------------2------4-------------------------------------- -------2------------------------------------------------------------- -----------2---1---1------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- Chords: Asus2 My secret wish...in this sacred place... C#min7 Is to relinquish needs...the great constant is perpetual change. Asus2 A So when we leave...as we know we will... C#min7 Some of us remain...consecrated and unchanged. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chorus: B C#min Asus2 E Circles in stars they bind us now, we're pretty animals, B C#min Asus2 E Colors around are bled of love, we're hopeful animals, (This chord progression is the same throughout the rest of the chorus.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The second verse follows the same form as the first. (Repeat Chorus) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bridge: E A The love...we crave C#min B A That binds, bends, but can never change E A Feeds the faith in faith C#min B A That I search for in everything.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Repeat Chorus) (Repeat Bridge) (Repeat Chorus) B C#min A Hey yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah... (Repeat) ________________________________________________________________________________
