the pattern basically continues from there, played louder in some portions. i think that he alternates some of the stuff between open strings and fretted notes. for example you can play the decending Am section (second to last line above) with the open position Am chord, and it'll sound more like what he does the first time. I put the fretted version in here because he uses it later, and also scoots it up to the 12th fret for the "solo". also the Am chord in the verse (which is made an Am by the bass line) can be played with open strings, and it sounds cool. have fun.
