ONE DIME BLUES Etta Baker is one of the most notable guitarists of the Piedmont blues style. She learned to play her first tunes from her father and played for decades in obscurity, until she was unexpectedly discovered by folk singer Paul Clayton in 1956. Through Clayton, Etta had a chance to record her songs for the first time. In 1989, she was honored with the North Carolina Folk Heritage Award, and in 1991 she received the National Heritage Fellowship Award from the National Endowment for the Arts. "One Dime Blues", is Etta Baker's signature song. An "s" before a note means slide into it; "h" is a hammer-on; the numbers in parentheses are the bar numbers.
