Last Night A DJ Saved My Life - Indeep ====================================== Tabbed by Daniel Clarke 2004 Email: tabs[at]danielclarke[dot]com Grateful for corrections/suggestions/comments I've tried to give the rhythm but it's pretty difficult to write. The relative spacing betwen the note gives the approximate rhythm but the bass and guitar parts are NOT written to correspond in position/timing, they're written independently! Just listen to the song and you'll pick it up, just rememebr to play it quite freely and jazzily, with the occaisional very brief palm mute (complete mute/dead stop), lots of up-down picking, and left-hand release-mutes. Due to lack of space I have written the chords using a key/legend, see below the stave to see what "x" etc mean! Essentially the song is just various jazzy combinations of A (at the 5th), Bm/Gmaj7 (at the 7th), G#m/Emaj7 (4th), F#m/Dmaj7 (2nd), and E (0th). Mess around with them, following the approx rhythym I have given. Notation: h = hammer on \ = slide down Musical key: A/F#m **Main part / verse** Bass: G------------------------------------------ D------------------------------------------ A----------------------2----2-4------------ E-----2-2-2---2---2------------------------ Guitar: e-----5-5-5---7-----5--5--5-5--5-5-5------- B-----5-5-5---7-----5--5--5-5--5-5-5------- G-----6-6-6---7-----6--6--6-6--6-6-6------- D------------------------------------------ A------------------------------------------ E------------------------------------------ chords: A Bm/Gmaj7 **Chorus** Bass: G------------------------------------------ D------------------------------------------ A---------------------------2----0--------- E-----2---2---0---0--(0h1h)2--------------- The brackets indicate the E hammered-on to F# is not always there, sometimes it's just F#. Pause on the last B slightly before going to the A, let the A ring. Sometimes with this fill on the end: G------------------------------------------ D---------4\0------------------------------ A-----2h4---------------------------------- E------------------------------------------ e-----5--5---4---2----0----2---0-2--------- B-----5--5---4---2----0----2---0-2--------- G-----6--6---4---2----1----2---1-2--------- D------------------------------------------ A------------------------------------------ E------------------------------------------ chords: w x y z y z y w= A x= G#m/Emaj7 y= F#m/Dmaj7 z= E **Fill** e-----4-55-4--5---4--5--4-4---------------- B-----4-55-4--5---4--5--4-4---------------- G-----4-66-4--6---4--6--4-4---------------- D------------------------------------------ A------------------------------------------ E------------------------------------------ "There's not a problem that I can't fix Cos I can do it in the mix"
