# Date: Sat, 28 Oct 95 14:43:21 EDT From: Winston Campbell Subject: ANOTHER ONE IN THE DARK by The Wallflowers Another One In The Dark (words & music by Jakob Dylan) I have grossly misinterpreted the lyrics as you will soon see. If anyone has any idea on some of the lyrical mumbling, can you please email me. Anyway: CAPO ON THE 2ND FRET (or play each chord a whole step up-I highly recommend capoing, though): Another thing is that the Bm riff is just Bm played staccato eight times, if you know the song, you will know what I am talking about. The reason why it does not sound like the Bm chord playing over and over is because the bassline walks up the C# minor scale. (Remember when you play Bm with a capo on the second fret, you are really playing C#m). Okay: Intro: D G D G D G D G D G Took em high, took em straight up the hill D G You wanted it all, gave em such a pill D G Their parades, we stole every thrill D G In their games, we made every kill D Daug D6 G D G Took em hard, took em up against the wall D G In their loss, you never let them fall D G In their flames, sailed up to the moon D G In their rain, they dry like firewood D Daug So the bottom, five beers D6 G As the girl might just disappear D Well that will be the death of me A The day she~s just a memory Bm Bm-A-G Bm Bm-A-G Bm riff Well she turned off the lights and she opened the whites G D In my eyes, another one in the dark F#m Bm Broken all apart A G Just another one in the dark A Aaug D G When the road rolled on like a big drum D G Went to the top just to bud everyone D G Wanted to win, tie yourself with a string, and steal everything D G You took em skin on skin, laid em down in the rain D Daug So I swear we~re a pair D6 G Like loneliness and a prayer D A No I~m not the be, may still mean me Bm Bm-A-G Bm Bm-A-G Bm riff Well she turned off the lights and she opened the whites G D In my eyes, another one in the dark F#m Bm Broken from the start A G Just another one in the dark A Aaug D G D G D G D G D G In their nights, rayed out with the loud screen D G Or in their sleep, we~re all inside every dream D Daug So if you trying to break me D6 G C~mon, why don~t you shake me D Right out of my dream A The one that you and me, me... Bm Bm-A-G Bm Bm-A-G Woooaahhh... Heeyyyy..... Bm riff Well she sang out of tune when she shot down the moon G As I saw my arteries down on dividers Bm riff And I was here at the Hoot, between the cup and the loot G As I strut down under the lightening love Bm riff As she cut all the strings that I tied to her wings G D Leaving me... in the dark F#m Bm Still just be apart A G And she never see me at all A Aaug D G D G...
